Find Child Care Oregon
The Market Price and Supply Study or MPSS is an effort to collect information about the price and supply of child care in Oregon. This study is for all child care providers in Oregon. During this study, providers are asked to share information about their child care program.
CCR&R staff will reach out to providers who do not complete the MPSS to collect the information and update it in FCCO.
To complete the MPSS child care providers will need to update or verify their program’s: rates and fees, desired capacity and scheduling details.
Additionally the study can be used by providers to compare their prices to other programs in their area and identify child care deserts.
If a provider charges more than one rate for an age group the highest rate is what needs to be collected.
Yes, this year for the MPSS fee collection is being reported. Providers will need to report any fees that are required for a child to attend their program. Within the Provider Portal providers can report the amount they charge for these rates.
No, the provider’s rate information is kept private and is not available for those seeking child care referrals through FCCO. After the MPSS data collection, the data will be put together with other providers without identifying information. This process allows us to determine the price of child care throughout the state.
Desired capacity is the total amount of children a provider wants to have in their program at one time. Providers will be asked their total desired capacity and the desired capacity by age.
The desired capacity must not exceed licensed capacity. The desired capacity is not the total number of children enrolled in a program.
Providers will be asked to provide their hours of operation, yearly schedule, and if they provide full time or part time care.
To be considered full time care a child must be able to attend the program for 30 hours or more a week. Programs where a child can only attend less than 30 hours a week are considered part time.
